Moberly Parks and Recreation is just a few weeks away from welcoming residents to an inclusive playground at the newest park in their system.

Construction began in late March on an inclusive playground at the new Kiwanis Park, located along Sinnock Avenue in the northeast part of the city. Parks and Recreation Director Troy Bock says the playground is the second phase of the project to add a much-needed park to the city.

Bock says the playground took several months of planning to ensure that it served the needs of everyone in the community.

Bock says he hopes to see the new playground open to the public in August. Afterward, Moberly Parks and Recreation crews will turn their attention to improvements at Fox Park, including an expanded parking lot.
