The Carrollton Town Council approved a conditional use permit that was the subject of a public hearing at the beginning of their meeting Monday night.
Mayor Keith Higgins says the permit will allow a new business on West Washington to open in the town soon.
A second public hearing was scratched when the owner of a proposed housing development along 10th Street did not show. Also at Monday night’s meeting, the Carrollton Town Council accepted the audit for fiscal year 2024 by Westbrook and Company, and approved a measure clarifying language in the town’s ordinance concerning open fire burning.
Meanwhile, Carrollton is abuzz with activity at Walnut Hills Park for the annual Carroll County Fair. Higgins encourages everyone to attend.
The Carroll County Fair continues through Friday. The next Carrollton Town Council meeting is scheduled for July 21.
