The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved a service agreement with the Saline County Commission to operate a wastewater treatment plant at the Marshall Junction.
The county is preparing to construct the plant to allow for future development at the Marshall Junction. MMU was approached by the county to operate, maintain, and manage the plant once it’s constructed. General Manager Jeff Bergstrom says MMU will be reimbursed throughout the duration of the agreement. The board approved Bergstrom’s recommendation to enter into the agreement.
Bergstrom says construction is expected to begin in August and be complete by the end of the year.
In other news, the board approved motions to request proposals to supply and install two direct drive rotary screw air compressors and two digital cycling compressed air dryers for the Water Treatment Plant. These air compressors supply air for the control and operation of the plant. The current air compressors were installed in 2002.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30.
