A recent flash flood north of Downtown Marshall prompted questions at last week’s meeting of the Marshall City Council concerning stormwater improvements.

During his report to the city council at the July 1 meeting, city administrator JD Kehrman noted that plans to increase drainage capacity along Boyd Street are hinging on the receipt of federal grant money.

Kehrman says he’s hopeful the final approvals will come through soon.

Kehrman also noted that the project includes a section on ConAgra’s property. He commended the company for working with the city to engineer and construct their portion of the route.

The Marshall City Council’s next meeting is Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.
