The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen held a discussion over the repairs needed at the city’s ball fields during its meeting on Monday, July 14.
City Clerk Michelle Fuehring stated the Recreation Board has been wanting to get the big ball field repaired for several years, but didn’t have the ability to pay for the labor for all the repairs. Fuehring says Dustin March and JL Waters have been working on the field and had some people lined up to replace the roof on the concession building and install a new water line. March estimated he would need $2,164 for the repairs, plus an additional $1,000 as a cushion to cover the expenses.
After some discussion, the board decided to get a more accurate estimate for the repairs and supplies.
In other news, the board will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2025 Tax Levy at 5:45 p.m. Monday, August 11.
