A Marshall man is being charged with several felonies after his involvement for a shooting on June 15 in Saline County.
According to a probable cause statement, the Saline County Sheriff’s Department investigated the shooting, learning that a man was shot in the arm by an unknown subject after a disagreement with money. Witnesses told authorities that Nicholas Johnson drove the shooter to and from the scene during the incident.
When authorities searched Johnson’s residence, they located drug paraphernalia and evidence that Johnson owned the weapon involved with the shooting, however, the weapon itself was not located. A witness was later able to identify Johnson out of a photographic lineup on July 3. Johnson is a convicted felon and is currently out on parole.
Johnson is facing felony charges for first degree assault causing physical injury, conspiracy to commit a felony, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $100,000 cash only.
Johnson was arraigned on July 18. A counsel status hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Saline County Circuit Court.
