The Sedalia City Council adopted an ordinance Monday, July 21, to establish a fee schedule for nearby non-profits to bring their animals to the city’s animal shelter for veterinary services.

City administrator Matthew Wirt says the city has planned to add a veterinarian at the shelter for some time, and the ordinance establishing fees is the latest step.

Also on the council’s light agenda Monday night was an ordinance accepting the annexation petition for the Prairie Hollow Development, near Clover Dell Park. Wirt says the developer still has several items to take care of before turning dirt on their project.

The council also approved an open container waiver for a fundraiser Oct. 18 benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, and the sale of property on the 500 block of East Jackson to JYG Development. Also approved was a supplemental agreement for the project to improve the intersection of U.S. Route 65 with Route B and 32nd St. The appointments of Tim Harris and Matthew Iway to the Galaxy West Community Improvement District was also approved.
