A Huntsville man was seriously injured after his plane crashed into a crop field Tuesday, July 22.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 31-year-old pilot was flying an AT402A air tractor over a crop field west of Centralia along Route CC, spraying the field. Troopers say the plane struck some electric cables around 1:15 p.m., resulting in the crash. The pilot suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Columbia hospital. The accident resulted in power outages around nearby Centralia and parts of northern Boone County for several hours.
