A teenage boy from Barnett drowned after entering a pond Wednesday, July 23 in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 13-year-old entered the water around 4 p.m. at a residence on Quarry Lane west of Barnett and did not resurface. The Moreau Fire Department recovered the victim’s body about an hour later.

This is the third drowning reported to the Patrol’s Troop F this month and fifth for the year.
