A Moberly man accused of murder will remain behind bars after his request for a reduced bond was denied.
A Randolph County judge ruled Monday, July 21 that 68-year-old David Kip Heyde would not have a change in bond status, determining that he was a danger to the community and flight risk. Heyde is being held without bond on a charge of second-degree murder following the July 6 shooting death of 23-year-old Bailey Scott. Court documents accuse Heyde of shooting Scott on his porch as the two argued about feeding birds in Heyde’s yard. Heyde was arrested after the Missouri State Highway Patrol took charge of the investigation.
A counsel status hearing is set for the afternoon of Aug. 11.
