The Concordia Board of Aldermen discussed potential improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment facilities during its meeting on Monday, July 21.
City Administrator Dale Klussman told KMMO News that the board received a quote for dredging at the North and South lagoons. He says the board is interested in constructing a mechanical treatment plant, but wants to the best way to improve the system.
Klussman says the board discussed several options for how to proceed.
The board didn’t take any action on these options, but will move forward with a conceptual study to gather more data.
In other news, Klussman wanted to remind Concordia residents of a ballot question on the August 5 Special Election Ballot in Lafayette County. The questions asks voters if the city should be allowed to impose a use tax on internet purchases outside the state of Missouri.
