The City of Sedalia has closed both lanes of West Main Street from Kentucky to Osage, as a building the city is seeking to have demolished continues to weaken amid heavy rains in the late evening of July 24th, 2025.

The city made the announcement early Friday morning after overnight rains caused further deterioration to the front of the building at 207 W. Main, which the city says has been on the verge of collapse since June. An attorney for the city filed a petition late Wednesday asking a Pettis County judge to order the structure’s demolition.
