The Pettis County Commission took action on a resolution with the American Steamboat Museum Board during its session on Wednesday, July 23.

Presiding Commissioner Bill Taylor says commission agreed to write a letter of support for Saline County to bring in a steamboat museum. Taylor says this is just one example of counties working together to increase tourism through the area.

Discussions about bringing the Steamboat Arabia museum to the Marshall Junction were re-sparked in January 2023 after it was announced that the steamboat’s move to St. Charles had failed.
