The Friends of Pennytown will celebrate their annual homecoming this Sunday, Aug. 3, with a sermon at the historic church south of Marshall and meal.
The celebration will begin with the church service at 11 a.m. at the Pennytown Freewill Baptist Church on Kitty Hawk Avenue. Organizer Virginia Huston says this year’s featured speaker is Brother John Anderson of Rajpa Motivational Ministries.
Huston says the annual homecoming brings descendants of the Pennytown community back to the area. They’ll gather at the Martin Community Center in Marshall for a meal beginning at 12:30, with a presentation to follow.
The meal is $15 and comes with beef brisket, sides, dessert and drink. More information about the annual Pennytown Homecoming is available on the group’s Facebook page or the Friends of Pennytown website.
