The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works is holding a work session to discuss and improve its 2025-2026 budget on Tuesday, August 5.

MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom says the work session will allow board members and department heads to review the draft budget and make changes where necessary.

The draft budget has $35,511,000 in revenue and $34,200,000 in expenditures. Bergstrom says the budget has $15.47 million in capital improvement projects for 2025-2026. Bergstrom highlights some of the projects included in the budget.

The budget will need to be approved by both the Board of Public Works and the Marshall City Council, a process the board plans to complete in September. The budget will need to be adopted prior to the start of the next fiscal year, which begins October 1, 2025.

The session will be held at 4 p.m. in the MMU Business Office Board Room, located at 75 East Morgan Street.
