A two-vehicle accident in the east part of California on Tuesday, Aug. 5 sent one of the drivers to hospital with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 66-year-old woman from California was seriously injured in the crash that occurred just before 2 p.m. Tuesday. According to troopers, the woman was driving her car east on Business Route 50, when at the intersection with Industrial Drive, a dump truck driven by a Prairie Home man failed to yield as it entered the intersection from the south, striking the woman’s car in the driver’s side. The California woman was flown to a Columbia hospital, while the Prairie Home man had no reported injuries.
