A Sweet Springs man was among three people involved in a crash Monday, Aug. 11 in Osage County that seriously injured one of the drivers.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 35-year-old man from Sweet Springs was driving his semi, when he slowed for traffic stopped in the northbound lane of U.S. Route 63 near the entrance to the Quaker Windows and Doors factory outside Freeburg. Troopers say that around 4:10 p.m., another semi truck behind him, driven by a 27-year-old from Camdenton, veered into the southbound lane to avoid hitting the rear of his truck. However, an oncoming SUV driven by a 56-year-old woman from Vienna struck the right front of the Camdenton truck, then was pushed into the rear of the other truck. The Vienna driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Rolla hospital. Both truck drivers had no reported injuries, with the Sweet Springs truck able to drive from the scene.
