The Carrollton R-7 School District held a tax rate hearing to set the district’s levy during its meeting on Tuesday, August 12.

Superintendent Dr. Tinna Croy says the district’s levy will remain unchanged at $4.9607. Croy also notes the district has also seen an increase of about $6 million in its assessed valuation.

In other news, the school district is welcoming students back for the start of the school year on Tuesday. Croy says the district will have a busy start to the 2025-2026 school year, as Carrollton will host jamborees for football, softball and volleyball over the next two weeks.

The Board of Education’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9.
