The Kansas City Chiefs are moving on from Skyy Moore, trading the wide receiver to San Francisco in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2027 draft, according to several reports including NFL.com.

Moore was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft, one of the selections the Chiefs got as part of the deal to send Tyreek Hill to Miami. Aside from a crucial punt return late in the 2022 AFC Championship Game and touchdown catch to put the Chiefs ahead in Super Bowl LVII, Moore has struggled to move up the depth chart in KC. His rookie season also saw him lose three fumbles, and he made no catches in the six games he played in last season, hampered in part by injury.

Moore started in 11 games for the Chiefs, making 43 catches across three seasons. He’s shown some promise in the preseason, returning a punt 88 yards for a touchdown in last week’s preseason game at Seattle. However, Moore also had a number of drops on offense in Saturday’s 33-16 loss to the Seahawks.

The deal also sends the Chiefs’ seventh round pick in the 2027 draft to San Francisco.

The Chiefs wrap up the preseason Friday evening when the Chicago Bears visit Arrowhead Stadium.  Pregame coverage from the Chiefs Radio Network begins at 6 p.m. on KMMO-FM 102.9, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
