Sales tax collections in Saline County were up five percent for August 2025 compared to the previous month, and even better compared to the same month a year ago.
According to figures from the Missouri Department of Revenue and presented earlier this month by county treasurer Jared Brewer, Saline County’s sales tax revenue totaled $120,756.63 during July, which was remitted in early August. That’s a 4.8 percent increase from June’s collections, while 5.5 percent better than July of last year. Similar totals were collected for the economic development and law enforcement taxes.
Use tax collections for the same month totaled $92,058.96, up almost ten percent from the previous month. However, it was sharply lower than the previous year, as July 2023 and 2024 were two of the largest use tax collection months on record, with both just shy of $117,000.
Year-to-date, sales tax collections are higher by $1148.88 at $930,399.10, while use tax collections total $772,203.54, up $59,713.35 from a year ago.
