The Marshall Public Schools Board of Education voted Tuesday evening to restructure their school nurse positions.
Supt. Caleb Petet says a resident nurse or nurse practitioner will serve as the district’s head nurse, based at one of the district’s buildings.
Petet says adjusting the district’s other nurse positions will better address the most common instances of student visits to the nurse’s office, while allowing the district to keep the positions filled.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the board hired Bailey Wilkinson for the next year as the head nurse at Marshall Intermediate School. A number of other hires were made in executive session, including Jeremy Gochenour as the boys golf coach, Brent Clary as an assistant football coach, and Coy Smith as an assistant baseball coach. Glen Miller will take over as head of the high school’s science department.
