Demolition work began late last week on the 101-year-old Eastwood Elementary School in Marshall.

Supt. Caleb Petet briefed the Marshall school board at last week’s meeting, following the completion of asbestos abatement work at the former grade school.

Also last week, Petet reported to the board that efforts to close on the sale of the Northwest School building remain stalled.

A prior attempt to close the sale of Northwest in June fell through, while a sale of the Benton School was completed over the summer.
