A Sedalia woman is facing several felony charges for drug-related offenses after an investigation conducted by detectives in May 2025.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, detectives began to investigate Amber Murphy after receiving information from two confidential informants who claimed she was trafficking methamphetamine between Johnson and Pettis counties.

Detectives were granted a search warrant to track the movements of Murphy’s vehicle using a GPS tracker. On May 13th, police observed suspicious driving activity consistent with methamphetamine distribution and stopped her near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Murray Avenue. Police also note that Murphy’s driving privileges were revoked and that she had an active warrant out for her arrest at that time.

Authorities located a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, as well as numerous plastic baggies and digital scales. Police also served a search warrant at Murphy’s residence, locating more drug paraphernalia and eight grams of packaged methamphetamine. Murphy admitted to using methamphetamine, but denied selling it.

Murphy has been charged with felonies for delivering a controlled substance, driving while revoked, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety, with GPS monitoring being required upon release.

No court appearances have been set at this time.
