The Johnson County County Commission held their annual levy hearing Monday morning, maintaining its 2024 rates.

During the meeting the commissioners unanimously agreed to continue the General Revenue and Road and Bridge property tax levies at the 2024 rates. The General Revenue levy was reduced from 0.1085 to 0.0900 cents per $100 of assessed valuation last year and will continue at that same rate. The Road and Bridge levy will continue at the reduced rate of 0.2000, down from 0.2363 cents per $100 of assessed valuation. This will continue to provide all taxpayers of Johnson County with a total reduction of 0.0548 on their county levies.

The rollback comes after careful consideration of the county’s financial health, current revenue streams, and the needs of the community.
