
Dorothy Jean Schneider, 96, of Sedalia, died Sunday, September 7, 2025 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel in Sedalia, with Fr. Martin Masiisa officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Born August 20, 1929 in Cole Camp, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Dorothy May Yearout Butler. On May 19, 1951 in Cole Camp, she married Maurice M. Schneider, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2005.
She is survived by three sons, Kenny Schneider and his wife Kelli, Larry Schneider, and Anthony Schneider and his wife Karla, all of Sedalia; two daughters, Winnie Craig of Cole Camp, and Jenn Kennett and her husband Dave of Trenton, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Veronica Johnson of Cole Camp. She was preceded in death by two brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Schneider was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. John Chapel in Bahner. She was a 1948 graduate of Benton County R-1 Cole Camp School. She later graduated from State Fair Community College in Sedalia as a respiratory therapist. She worked at Windsor Hospital, Sweet Springs Hospital, and retired from Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton at 75 years old. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, while sitting in her sunroom or on her deck.
