A pair of roads in Pettis County are closed this week for maintenance projects.

The Pettis County Road and Bridge Department has closed Chmelir Road north of Ionia, between Meisner and Hoffman Roads, for low water maintenance. Crews are expected to take about two weeks to complete the work.

The department will also close Sellers Road just outside Sedalia beginning Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 for critical maintenance work. Crews will prepare the roadway for a new base, which the department says is a vital step toward constructing a stronger and longer-lasting road.
