The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works decided to renew its annual agreement with the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation during its meeting Wednesday morning.

As part of the agreement, MMU pays MSDC $30,000 annually in exchange for their economic development efforts. The agreement expires September 30th, but renews automatically unless its terminated by the Board of Public Works. The board took no action and allowed the agreement to renew automatically.

In other news, the board authorized President Chuck Hines to sign a letter of understanding for an audit with Gerding, Korte, and Chitwood.

The board also reviewed bids to replace the heating boiler system at the Recycle Center. Bids were opened on September 4 and a total of three different vendors bidding. Board members accepted a $36,017 bid from Beerman Heating and Cooling for a 489,000 BTU unit.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1.
