A two-vehicle collision in La Monte on Wednesday, Sept. 10 sent two people to the hospital, including a La Monte resident with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that at around 7:30 a.m., an SUV driven by a 40-year-old man from La Monte had entered the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 at Pleasant Green Road. Troopers say the SUV pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by a 46-year-old woman from Sunrise Beach, striking the left of the SUV before overturning. A passenger in the SUV, an 86-year-old man from La Monte, sustained serious injury and was flown to a Columbia hospital. The Sunrise Beach driver was taken to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries, while no injuries were reported for the SUV’s driver.
