
A motorcyclist based at Whiteman Air Force Base was seriously injured after his bike struck a stopped vehicle on a highway north of Clinton on Thursday, Sept. 11.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 31-year-old man was on his motorcycle heading north on Route 13, when just past the intersection with NW 550 Road, the motorcycle impacted with a sedan that was stopped in the northbound lane. The motorcyclist suffered serious injury and was taken to a nearby hospital. No injuries were reported for the driver of the stopped sedan, a 36-year-old man from Holden. Troopers note that the motorcyclist was not wearing the proper safety gear at the time of the crash.
