The Carrollton Town Council is reviewing their options for funding upgrades to the city’s wastewater treatment plant.

The presentation from Joey McLiney of SAMCO Capital was the major item on Monday night’s council agenda, according to mayor Keith Higgins. Mayor Higgins tells KMMO News that McLiney highlighted two options for Carrollton to cover the proposed $8.4 million price tag: a low-interest loan through USDA Rural Development and a similar program through a revolving fund handled by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. No action was taken by the town council.

A public hearing planned for Monday night at the beginning of the meeting to consider a special use permit was cancelled. Higgins says the town’s legal counsel advised that a proposed storage facility at Main and Heidel would require an ordinance rezoning the property.
