The Missouri Valley College Rodeo programs are kicking off the 2025-2026 rodeo season with the Viking Stampede Rodeo at the Saline County Fairgrounds in Marshall.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. each day from Thursday through Saturday at the fairgrounds. Head Rodeo Coach Ken Mason says he’s excited to welcome competitors from all over the Ozark Region.

The Viking Stampede Rodeo is the first event on the schedule for the Ozark Region. The Vikings will also attend four other events from September to November. Mason says his teams have been working hard to prepare for the start of the season.

The MVC men’s team earned reserve champion honors at the College National Finals Rodeo in June. In the Ozark Region, the men’s team finished at the top of the standings with 6,405.5 points, while the women’s team placed second, trailing the University of West Alabama by less than 60 points.

MVC students and faculty get free admission into the rodeo with their school I.D. Prices for the general public each night are $10 for adults, $5 for children, and kids five and under are free.
