The Glasgow R-II School District Board of Education approved a calendar change at their meeting last week to accommodate one of the Central Activities Conference meets the district will host in the spring.

At their meeting Sept. 18, the board decided to make Mon., March 9 a full day of school, instead setting a noon dismissal time for Weds., March 4. According to Supt. Stacey Kottman, the change was made to reflect the additional time needed for musicians competing in the District Music Contest. Over the weekend, Glasgow’s cross country team competed at the inaugural CAC meet at New Franklin, while the conference’s first-ever girls golf tournament is set for Monday at Heritage Hills Golf Course outside Moberly.

Also last Wednesday, the Glasgow school board adopted a slate of policy and regulation updates, approved the professional development plan for certified faculty, and finalized bus routes for the school year. The board also reviewed updates to the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and their Title I plan.

The Glasgow School Board next meets Oct. 15.
