
The Kansas City Royals had a three-run lead at one point, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Athletics in a 4-3 walk-off loss in West Sacramento Friday night.
The Royals kicked of its final series of the season by jumping out to a fourth inning lead thanks to a three-run home run from Jonathan India.
An inning later, the A’s would load the bases against Royals starter Noah Cameron, knocking him out of the game. Taylor Clarke would come in and give up a bases clearing double to Jacob Wilson to tie the game.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the ninth, when Shae Langeliers drilled a two-out, walk off double that scored Max Schuemann all the way from first.
Noah Cameron tossed 4.2 innings and allowing three runs on four hits and four walks. He finishes the 2025 campaign with a 2.99 ERA over 24 starts.
The Royals fall to 80-80 on the season. Kansas City will look to even the series today, sending Michael Wacha to the mound. Pregame coverage will begin at 8:30, with first pitch at 9:05 p.m. on KMMO AM 1300.
