The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is encouraging area farmers and households to dispose of their unwanted pesticides Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 in Chillicothe.

DNR will collect certain pesticides from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Litton Agri-Science Learning Center off Route 190. Materials that DNR will accept from farmers and households include herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides, dewormers, fly tags, and fertilizers containing pesticide. DNR will not accept any pesticide rinsate, paint, explosives, fire extinguishers, yard waste, electronics or trash. Farmers and households are limited to dropping off eight-thousand pounds of eligible materials. The event is not for pesticides from businesses, production facilities, distributors, retailers, or similar entities.

DNR encourages eligible farmers and households to register in advance by e-mailing them (pesticidecollectionregistration@dnr.mo.gov) or by visiting DNR’s website.
