A two-vehicle collision near Dresden on Wednesday, Oct. 8 claimed the lives of two Sedalia residents.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 50-year-old man had the green light as he was driving south from Route MM onto U.S. Route 50 around 4:15 p.m. Troopers say that’s when a westbound dump truck driven by a 36-year-old man from Shelbina entered the intersection, striking the sedan. A 48-year-old passenger in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the sedan driver was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries. They are the 62nd and 63rd traffic fatalities recorded by the patrol’s Troop A this year. No injuries were reported for the dump truck driver.
