Week Nine high school football is already underway, including one game we featured Thursday, Oct. 23 on KMMO.com.
The Cole Camp Bluebirds fell to Adrian 28-27 on Thursday night in Cole Camp to see their record slip to 6-3. Cole Camp is currently ranked third in their district, which if the standings hold, would put them on the road to Russellville after having next week off.
Meanwhile, the Marshall Owls prepare to host Sedalia Smith-Cotton, with the Owls needing help to avoid a trip to Warrenton for the first round of district play. Meanwhile, Smith-Cotton are sitting third in their district standings, trailing top-ranked Grain Valley by 3.65 ranking points. The Owls and Tigers will play on KMMO AM 1300, with pregame at 6:40 p.m. and kickoff at 7 p.m.
On KMMO-FM 102.9, it’s a battle of Lewis and Clark schools for our Game of the Week, as Salisbury look to cement an unblemished regular season when Westran pay a visit. If the current district standings hold, the two could meet up in two weeks for the Class One, District Seven semifinals. We’ll also begin tonight’s pregame at 6:40 p.m., with kickoff around 7 p.m. Afterward, it’s another edition of the Pigskin Post Game, our weekly rundown of all of the region’s scores as well as interviews with many of our area coaches.
