A Blackwater man was dealt moderate injuries after his vehicle went off a Cooper County roadway Saturday, Oct. 25.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the 51-year-old man was driving a side-by-side south on Prairie Lick Road, about a half-mile south of Eichelberger Drive in the Pilot Grove area. Troopers say that at around 10 p.m., the man failed to navigate a right turn and went off the left side of the road, overturning the vehicle. The man was taken to a Columbia hospital. Troopers add that he had not been wearing the proper safety gear at the time of the crash.
