
The Fayette Board of Aldermen accepted a bid to begin a street repair project during its meeting on Tuesday, October 28.
Aldermen approved a $949,471 bid from Don Schnieder for the work. The project is being broken up into three separate parts. City Administrator Deanna Cooper says the Community Improvement District is covering two-thirds of the costs with Parts A and C.
The city’s contribution for Parts A and C will be $109,232. The city will be responsible for the remaining $621,775 over the next two fiscal years.
In other news, Cooper announced the city received a Department of Conservation Forestry Cost Share Grant.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11.
