Several area city councils are holding their regularly scheduled meetings on Monday, November 3.

First, the Concordia Board of Aldermen will meet at 5 p.m., opening the meeting with a closed session to decide who will fill the vacancy left by former Mayor Michael Brown after he resigned to serve as the southern district commissioner in Lafayette County on an interim basis. The board will then go into open session and administer the Oath of Office to the appointed personnel.

The meetings of the Higginsville Board of Aldermen, Carrollton Town Council, and Moberly City Council all get underway at 6 p.m. Moberly’s City Council has a lengthy agenda for Monday night, including two public hearings and the acceptance of bids for stormwater improvements at the Seven Bridges CSO Basin.

The Sedalia City Council will meet at 6:30 to consider an ordinance calling for a general election on April 7, 2026, as well as a permanent sanitary sewer easement for the extension of a sewer line for a new arena at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

The Boonville City Council also meets Monday night, with the council planning to consider the second reading of an intergovernmental agreement with the Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Cooper County. The council’s meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, both the Marshall and Slater City Councils are scheduled to hold their regular meetings. Marshall’s meeting will begin at 6, with Slater’s getting underway at 7 p.m.
