An Illinois man drowned after falling off a boat dock Friday, Oct. 31 at Truman Lake.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that around 9:55 a.m., an 83-year-old from Belleville, Ill. fell into the water at a marina south of Warsaw and went underneath a boat lift. A family member jumped in to attempt to save the man, but was unable to exit the water. Nearby bystanders were able to bring both men to the surface, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene. No injury information was reported for the family member.
