A Sedalia teenager was taken to a Kansas City area hospital after his motorcycle struck the back of a trailer that was turning off U.S. Route 50 on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 17-year-old was actively passing other motorists along the eastbound lanes of Route 50 east of Warrensburg, when at around 4 p.m., a pickup in front of him towing a trailer was starting to slow down and turn onto Northeast 175th Road. Troopers say the motorcycle struck the trailer as it was still in the left lane. The crash caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting the teenager, who suffered moderate injuries as a result. No injuries were reported for the truck’s driver.
