
Five Tigers were in double-digits as the Missouri Tigers cruised to a 106-68 win Sunday, Nov. 9 over the Virginia Military Institute at Mizzou Arena.
The game was back-and-forth for the first ten minutes before Mizzou went on a 12-3 run, eventually finishing the half leading the Keydets 50-40. Mark Mitchell and Sebastian Mack sparked the Mizzou offense out of the locker room, extending the lead to 13, before the Tigers went on another 17-5 run to keep control of the game the rest of the way. Mizzou shot nearly 57 percent from the field, including seven-for-21 from behind the arc. The Tigers limited VMI to just two points in the paint and two second-chance points to dominate the inside.
Mark Mitchell led the way for the Tigers, scoring 24 points including a seven-for-13 mark from the field and 10-of-13 from the free throw line. Anthony Robinson the Second had four baskets from three-point range to contribute 20 points, while making four steals on the defensive end. Jayden Stone, Jacob Crews, and Sebastian Mack also recorded double digits for the Tigers, who advanced to 3-0 with the win.
Mizzou will host Minnesota on Wednesday night, with tipoff at 7 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on KMMO-FM 102.9.
