A deputy with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office incurred minor injuries after his patrol vehicle collided with a deer late Sunday, Nov. 16 on U.S. Route 65.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred in the southbound lanes of Route 65 at 145th Road around 11:05 p.m. Troopers say the 40-year-old deputy was responding to an emergency call when his SUV struck a deer in the roadway. Saline County Sheriff Daniel Kirchoff tells KMMO News that the deputy received treatment at Fitzgibbon Hospital and has been released.
