The Odessa Board of Aldermen voted to enter into a professional services contract for on-call electrical engineering services during its most recent meeting.

The board approved the agreement with Allgeier, Martin, and Associates on a task order basis. Mayor Bryan Barner says the the company will help the city with its electrical engineering needs, as well as an electric rate study.

 

In other news, the board approved a bill calling for a General Election on April 7, 2026. The Mayor’s seat will be on the ballot, along with Mickey Starr’s position in Ward 1, Donna Ehlert’s in Ward 2, and Collin Carrigan’s in Ward 3. The city’s Public Safety Sales Tax proposal will also be on the ballot in April.

The board also recognized new Community Development Coordinator Jenny Neel, and appointed David Badgley to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
