Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton has named the 15 students whose “I Voted” sticker entries will go to a public vote next month.
Burton announced the finalists Wednesday, Nov. 19, following their selection by a panel of the county’s elected officials. Advancing in the Future Voters category were Emery Buckler, Lillian Fitzwater, Axton Forrester, Deacon McKinney, and Henry Otto. Finalists in the Rising Voices category were Audrey Brookman, Leo Hubbard, Ayzaria Johnson, Emmah Meyer, and Cassidy Shackles. The top five entries from the Young Leaders and Community Voices categories were Gabrielle Hayes, Kylie King, Molly Krog, Kaleigh Nitzschke, and Madilyne Russell.
Burton says students across Saline County submitted 175 entries. Entries in the Future Voters and Rising Voices categories, which consist of students in grades K through 5, were asked to color in a pre-designed sticker, while middle school students in the Young Leaders and high school students in the Community Voices categories were tasked with creating their own design.
A public poll will take place online Dec. 1-19. The winning entry in each category will be used for Saline County’s “I Voted” stickers during elections in 2026 and 2027.
