
The first weekend of high school basketball is underway, with the Marshall Owls starting the season on the road.
The Owls will open the season Friday, Nov. 21 with a double-header at Sweet Springs. Pregame coverage begins at 5:50 p.m. on KMMO AM 1300, before the girls tip off against the Greyhounds. The boys game will follow around 7:30 p.m.

The Concordia at Smithton game scheduled for Nov. 21 is postponed because of Concordia’s quarterfinal football matchup at Wellington-Napoleon on Saturday afternoon. Concordia has also announced that their Tuesday evening contest against Holden will be just a girls basketball contest. The state champion girls’ spring softball team will receive their rings during a halftime ceremony.

The Lone Jack boys soccer team will have their Class One semifinal contest against Laquey/Richland on Friday at 12:15 p.m. at the World Wide Technology Soccer Complex in Fenton. The third-place game is Saturday at 10 a.m., with the championship against 11 a.m.
