A subject has been taken into custody after shots were fired in the City of Boonville on Monday, November 24.

According to the Boonville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Sixth Street and Locust Street in Boonville for a report of shots fired at 11:24 a.m. Further information revealed that a male subject fired one round in the area after having an argument with a female outside of the female’s vehicle. The male subject then took off on foot and was last seen heading east on Spruce Street.

Officers arrived on scene shortly after and were able to get a description of the male subject. A subject matching the description was then located in the 700 block of Seventh Street and taken into custody without incident. The male subject did have a firearm on his person.

The department says this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. KMMO will update this story when formal charges are filed.
