The Slater Schools Board of Education authorized the purchase of a tarping system to protect the district’s recently installed and dedicated gym floor.

Supt. Dr Terry Lorenz tells KMMO News that the tarp system will total $15,000 and extend the life of the the Joe Kleine Roscoe White Court.

Lorenz informed the board during the Tuesday, Nov. 25 meeting that the live auction and dinner Nov. 14 raised another $25,000 toward covering the project’s total cost.

Board members also opened discussion on updates to Slater’s facilities plan, as part of the quarterly update to the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. The board also approved their assessment plan for the remainder of the school year and authorized Lorenz to prepare the ballot for April’s school board elections.
