A one-vehicle accident near La Monte left three of its occupants injured on a Pettis County roadway on Thursday, November 27.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old La Monte woman ran off the right side of Jones Road and overcorrected several times before overturning. The vehicle came to a rest on its side in the middle of the roadway and ejected one of its passengers.

The ejected passenger, a 16-year-old from Zillah, Washington, was transported by Life Flight to Research Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver was taken to Centerpoint with serious injuries. Another passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old from Palmer, Alaska, had minor injuries.

The Patrol reports that none of the occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. The crash was reported at 6:01 p.m. on Jones Road, north of Patrick Road in Pettis County.
