The City of Sedalia has announced a snow emergency Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, prompting the activation of the city’s snow routes.
The city is advising residents who live along signed emergency snow routes to move any vehicles parked along the roadway, in order to allow street crews to treat roadways and make them passable for emergency vehicles and essential travel. Sedalia’s emergency snow routes ordinance takes effect when at least two inches of snow, sleet or ice is expected within a 24-hour period. We have a map Sedalia’s designated emergency snow routes posted below:

Marshall street crews are also in the midst of clearing their roadways. Municipal Services Director Randy Cornine tells KMMO News that the city’s ordinance sets the threshold for snow accumulation at four inches before a snow emergency is declared. However, Cornine encourages residents to stay off the roadways and allow city crews to complete their work.
Monday morning’s snow has prompted several schools to dismiss early and cancel activities for Monday. Of note, action at the basketball tournaments at Glasgow and Tipton have been postponed to Tuesday night.
